The Völkl Blaze 114 Skis add a lighter and more maneuverable option to the 114mm class - quite different than Völkl's Revolt 114, but imminently more suitable for self-powered BC exploits, tight terrain, and exploration (as opposed to heli drops and wide open 50 degree faces). This is a ski that faces up to the challenge of melding the uphill and downhill and comes away unscathed – a great choice for a touring weapon in steep and deep conditions.

Rocker Type
Tip & Tail Rocker – Bends up only in the shovel and tail zones, with a camber shape in the middle.
Sidecut
3D Radius Sidecut – Three radii in one ski shape deliver maximum versatility - long radii at the tip and tail for stability and smoothness, and a short radius in the mid-body allows the skier to switch from long arcs to short turns at will, at any speed.
Core
Hybrid Multilayer Woodcore Green – The Hybrid Multilayer Woodcore Green core is a very complex core that is used in the Blaze 114. Specially chosen light woods are picked both for sustainability and performance.
Laminates
Suspension Tips and Tails – Inserts made of elastic TPU material on the edges of the tip and tail which act like a bumper in wind-blown or tracked snow. Its shock-absorbing elasticity ensures better stability and catch-free float.
Titanal Binding Platform – A thin Titanal layer (0,3 mm) under the binding delivers the necessary strength to the ski. This way the binding screws offer reliable hold even in the toughest conditions.

Full Sidewall – Direct and strong power transmission with full length sidewalls.
Base
P-Tex 2100 – A sintered high-density and high molecular weight polyethylene base with great gliding characteristics and high durability.

Rocker/Camber/Rocker Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as well as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
