Designed for the advanced to expert rider, the Mega Death offers an exhilarating ride on both groomed trails and challenging terrains. With a firm grip that instills confidence during carves, it's a board that demands and rewards active engagement.

Young Bohle found the board excellent for carving, noting its ability to hold lines with an almost unyielding grip, even on slushy, loose days. Tony Banchero highlighted the board’s dynamic and snappy response, perfect for all-mountain freeriding with a hint of freestyle. It proved to be solid and stable, capable of busting through choppy snow without sacrificing speed or agility. The board’s energetic nature underfoot made it possible to boost large ollies effortlessly, marking it as a top pick for riders who thrive on active, high-energy sessions.

Chris Lovely's experience reinforced the board's versatility, with an ability to transition from casual cruising to high-speed runs seamlessly. The Mega Death's stability and reactivity were particularly notable, even at higher speeds, making it a fantastic choice for increasing one's pace without compromising control.

Not forgiving at all. Can't ride the board and be lazy about it.

"I felt like I could have sized down, but was still super happy with the 159. Mega Death is an apt name for the board. It's built for carving. When it grabs that line, it holds on with a death grip. I demo'd the board on a loose and slushy NW day. This board had no issues keeping me planted and carving. It kept you locked, both toe and heel side. It's all fun if that's your thing."

Perfect for the advanced and above all-mountain rider that wants an energetic board.

"This is Capita's deck for the advanced-expert, all mountain freerider with some freestyle capabilities thrown in, and boy was it fun. I was riding it on fairly chopped up, soupy wet snow that was still plenty fast, and it felt super solid busting through the chop, and railing turns at high speeds. I'm 6'2"", 190 lbs, and was riding the 161W, which with a 10.5 boot did feel a bit on the wide side vs what I like, I think the 159 would have been perfect for me for a resort board, or the 162 if I was hitting bigger lines or big jumps. Overall I just thought this board was really fun. It was energetic underfoot, snappy and confidence-inspiring in turns, and I boosted the biggest ollie I did all day on it without even really trying that hard. While I think with the stiffness and camber profile this would be best suited to an advanced-expert rider, it didn't feel like a board that would be fatiguing to ride all day -- it was pretty comfortable and never felt like one of those boards that will ride you if you're not 100% on your game. If you're confident all mountain freerider that seeks out sidehits to launch off of, and appreciates a lightweight, responsive board, this is a phenomenal choice."

Fastest board out there!

"Don't let the name scare you. You can casually cruise on this board when desired but when it's time to punch it, THIS BOARD RIPS! It's very nimble and reactive, yet holds an amazing amount of stability at high speeds. The Megadrive base is noticeably fast, yet you don't need to go full send 100% of the time to appreciate this board. You'll definitely increase your speed limit with the Mega Death!"

Pros

  • Carving Precision: The Mega Death excels at carving, with a grip that doesn’t let go.

  • Stability in Varied Conditions: The board is stable even in difficult conditions.

  • Energetic and Responsive: The board is described as snappy and lively underfoot, making it perfect for dynamic movements and boosting big airs with minimal effort.

Cons

  • Not for the Faint-Hearted: This board demands attention and energy; it’s not suitable for passive riders or those who prefer a laid-back ride.

  • Wide Model Concerns: Particularly for riders with smaller boot sizes, the wider models may feel too broad, potentially affecting maneuverability and comfort.

Who Is It For?

The 2025 CAPiTA Mega Death is best suited for advanced to expert riders who thrive on active, high-energy snowboarding and demand a board that can aggressively carve and maintain stability at high speeds. This board is perfect for those who appreciate a responsive, snappy feel underfoot, and enjoy a board that can handle dynamic movements and big airs effortlessly.

This snowboard is particularly great for riders who like to challenge themselves on a variety of terrains, from groomed trails to choppy conditions. Its stable yet reactive nature makes it a top choice for pushing limits on the mountain. However, given its demanding and energetic nature, it may not be the best choice for beginners or those who prefer a more forgiving, laid-back ride. Its performance demands commitment and attention, which might be overwhelming for casual riders.
